I have the impression I’m going too slow developing the blog. I have never had this feeling with other sites. Perhaps I have forgotten that success can’t be reached with only two posts. Success for me means having 10 followers, I can’t expect more now. I feel as if time was running so fast that my blog will fail. For example, yesterday I haven’t enough time to publish anything. Yes, I know I aimed to publish 2 or 3 posts a day…

I spent the morning installing Windows at my sister’s office. In the afternoon I read some popular blogs (I must learn the basics) and then I tried some plugins in the blog. Then it was 2 o’clock in the morning so I went to sleep.

Today I have studied how much I progressed yesterday and the conclusion is just depressing. The results of yesterday efforts are:

- I learned that a non-updated blog is a dead blog. _ [John Chow Dot Com]
- I installed a tag cloud that I don’t like too much.

¿Am I wasting my time? I don’t know at all. Perhaps it just too early to worry about it. Perhaps I should read less blogging advices and enjoy the blog. I have read some articles like: 10 plugins that should not be missing in a blog. Each blogger lists its favorites and then installed all of them expecting wonderful miracles. After installing all of them I realized that I don’t need them or they don’t work in my blog, or they are descatalogued.

¿Are you installing a blog? Well, a piece of advice: read, read and read to learn, but before go into action, you must think if what you have read is applicable to your case or you will waste your time as me.

Well, I will start again. I’ll try to publish twice a day, I will enjoy my blog and I will forget tips that I have learned until I think I am ready to them.

• Akismet.- I don’t like spam.
• All in One SEO Pack.- Because you can detail a neta-description and tags for each article.
• Better Comments Manager.- Because I read in a blog that you can’t miss it. Well until now I have 14 comment and 7 are mine, so I don’t know if I can live with it or not.
• FD Feedburner Plugin.- Because my 15 feed readers will be able to read articles. The normal feed are illegible.
• Google Analytics for WordPress.- I want to know if someone apart from me has reach here.
• Google XML Sitemaps. Generates a sitemap so search engines can index you so it is possible that some reaches here.
• MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. Saves your wordpress blog from getting tagged as ping spammer. Well I don’t know anything about SEO but people who knows about it tell that you can miss it.
• No Self Pings. Same as the last plugin to improve SEO.
• SEO Slugs. Removes common words like ‘a’, ‘the’, ‘in’ from post slugs to improve SEO. I haven’t test it yet, so…
• Simple Tags. I like this one a lot because it read the article and the suggests tags.
• Social Dropdown. Displays social bookmarks. Interesting.
• Tabbed Widgets. You can save space in your sidebar. My idea is to put the categories in one tab and the tag cloud in another. I want to use it as a plugin instead as a widget to use it in the 100% of the sidebar instead of place it in the little columns.
• TagALLY-for-WP. Is the colour tag cloud.
• TinyMCE Advanced. If you don’t know too much HTML this will save your time.
• WordPress.com Stats. Google Analytics for WordPress stats results were 0 visitants. Perhaps it is wrong.
• WordPress Database Backup. Very important.
• Wordpress Duplicate Content Cure. More SEO-things…
• WordPress Reports. WordPress.com Stats have also told me I haven’t got visitants. xD
• WP-PageNavi. Advaced page navigation. I think is useful.
• WP-PostRatings. Well if all the stats results are 0 visitants, I don’t Know if it is useful at all. But the stars I have created are cool.
